A Year For Strong Business Leadership - States CBI Director-General
January 4th, 2009The economic downturn means managers will have to demonstrate strong leadership in 2009. The challenges of the year ahead mean that strong business leadership will be needed, according to one expert.
In his New Year message, Richard Lambert, director-general of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), explained the issues presented by the recession are obvious, but managers must also keep an eye on potential opportunities.
He said: “Business leaders must retain their own sense of perspective, and ensure that they encourage their firms not to become completely defensive.”
Managers must not “lose sight of how to push forward issues where their judgment tells them to do so”, he added.
