CEO’s See People Management Skills As The Most Important Of Abilities
May 1st, 2009A study by the Institute of Learning and Management (ILM) has revealed 27% of CEOís see People management and communication skills as abilities that are most important in their managers during the recession.
It also found that financial aptitudes were in demand, with 22% stating cost control and budgeting skills at the top of their list.
Penny de Valk, chief executive of ILM, said: “The findings emphasise the need to continue focusing on leadership and management development, even during in a downturn, when budgets are tight.
“If businesses are to survive the recession and emerge well placed to take advantage of the recovery, they should focus on improving core skills, she added.
